What is working with Marek like? Full accounts from the people that matter, in their own words

Michelle Corsetti (Frankfort, US)

Reason for engaging in nutritional therapy

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and was experiencing other health issues. I was dissatisfied with the treatment options I was given and the general lack of improvement I was able to obtain while seeing traditional doctors. Before ultimately finding Marek, I tried other holistic practitioners without any improvement to my conditions.

Overall experience – how did you find it?

Working with Marek has been the most challenging, but rewarding, endeavor I have undertaken. It takes patience, diligence, and trust. I have been working with Marek for almost 4 years, but it has been worth all the time and effort as I have repeatedly told him that he made me feel human again. I am thrilled with the progress I have made in my overall health, including reversing my rheumatoid arthritis, all without the use or need of pharmaceuticals.

Were there any factors in my approach that you were not expecting (good or bad)?

Before I had contacted Marek, I read about his approach on his website and had read many of his articles. At this point, I was desperate to find someone that could treat me, so I went in with an open mind and an optimistic attitude that he would be able to help me. So, I would say that there was nothing about his approach that I was not expecting. My optimism was reinforced early on because I started to improve immediately.

I will say, though, that what I like best about his approach is that he runs lab work and gets test results that traditional doctors do not.

What recommendation made the biggest difference for you?

I had so many problems, I do not know of any single recommendation that had a greater impact than any of the others. While it cannot be distilled to a single recommendation, the changes to my diet and meal structure Marek suggested probably made the biggest difference overall.

What is the main difference (or main differences) that this work has had on your everyday life?

Before Marek, getting out of bed was a challenge as I had severe pain in my joints and body aches due to the rheumatoid arthritis. I also had chronic fatigue and brain fog. Now I wake up and go through my entire day without pain, a clear mind, and the energy to exercise vigorously.

Any other thoughts you would like to share?

Taking control of your health is not a quick fix. There is no shortcut, but Marek gave me back my life. My son, daughter, and several friends have started to use Marek after seeing my transformation. It is hard work and imperative that you stick to his regimen in order to see and keep results.

Paula (Wiltshire)

Reason for engaging in nutritional therapy

Extreme insomnia, anxiety and brain fog. Paradoxical reactions to almost everything.

Overall experience – how did you find it?

The best thing I’ve ever done. It wasn’t easy though, especially at the start, but I really appreciate you taking the time to explain what you were expecting at each stage, and how to know whether the responses I were seeing were a sign that things were working or a sign that we needed to change things up.

Were there any factors in my approach that you were not expecting (good or bad)?

One thing that I really appreciated and did not expect was how you always told me what your expectations were at each stage and how, if anything didn’t work out, that you would use this for information. Your phrase “we win or we learn” really stuck with me. Also that you referred me to other practitioners when you felt that this was needed (chiropractic and somatic). This was so helpful because, before we started working together, I was at the point where it felt like there were so many things I needed help with but I did not have the headspace to assemble a team of specialists, and honestly I didn’t know where to start. But this meant I got the help I needed and at a time I was able to benefit from it. Another thing I didn’t expect was to be able to come off thyroid medication after almost 20 years – this wasn’t even one of my aims, but something I’m really grateful for. The biggest challenge was definitely organizing myself at the start to make the changes and to provide measurements like HRV and several others, as I had never done this with my previous practitioners and I guess I wasn’t expecting it.

What recommendation made the biggest difference for you?

It’s difficult to say, because the moment that my world changed was after the introduction of Folate, where I slept through the night for the first time in eight years. However, there was more to it than just Folate because I’d tried to introduce this many times over previous years with other practitioners (my test results always showed this to be low) but every time it was the same outcome; worse insomnia. So really it feels like the work we did leading up to this was actually the key. You were very clear about the need to change the conditions in my central nervous system, especially inflammation. There was a lot in play in my case, and dealing with mould in my home, addressing a H Pylori infection, sorting out blood flow with chiropractic adjustments and also reducing tension in my body all felt very important. So it feels like Folate was a the pay-off, but all the work in getting me ready for this was probably the dealbreaker.

What is the main difference (or main differences) that this work has had on your everyday life?

I can sleep! Anyone who has suffered chronic insomnia will know how this takes over your life and leaves you unable to function. I will never ever take good sleep for granted as long as I live, and I now have the energy to play with my grandchildren.

Any other thoughts you would like to share?

It seems strange to say it now but before I began I really couldn’t see how anyone could help me. I’d already seen dozens of practitioners, taken all the tests going and spent thousands of pounds and I couldn’t see how this was different because it felt like all the areas we discussed, I’d already tried. But you connected things up in a way that no-one else had and never tried to run a protocol before getting my body ready to benefit from it. I think the biggest difference was that you were able to explain why things weren’t working before and it actually made sense.

OL (Sweden)

Reason for engaging in nutritional therapy

Years of illness eventually resulting in a crash, taking things to newer lows. A place where standard healthcare has no tools or seemingly desire to navigate. Where they repeatedly send you out the door claiming everything looks perfect.

Overall experience – how did you find it?

After years of fumbling in the dark without answers, desperately trying new protocols from various online-forums, with as many weird reactions as benefits, it was incredibly comforting finally sitting down with someone that can have a look at your history, your labs and provide you with a solid explanation that actually makes sense, along with a well thought out plan for the months to come.

The healing journey isn’t necessarily easy and straightforward. It’s been my case that it’s a slow but steady “1 step back 2 step forwards” situation. Anyone being unwell for a long time without answers, can appreciate that in those tougher times it’s been incredibly valuable to be able to get support and answers from Marek about the current situation. Ensuring that either everything is according to plan, or action is called for.

I wouldn’t hesitate a second in recommending Marek to anyone I know, he is intelligent, empathetic and straight forward with his approach.

Were there any factors in my approach that you were not expecting (good or bad)?

Appreciating the need for working with the body was brand new to me, other than “boxbreathing can be helpful”. For me it took a while to understand. Its easier to understand that “X is low, supplement it for a while”, of course.

It was a slight challenge to get a hold of the right practitioners. In this regard something that I can imagine be helpful for the future could be collecting data and form a list of say, SE-practitioners that has been helpful, in every country.

What recommendation made the biggest difference for you?

I don’t think it’s any one specific change. But the whole idea of a well though out plan that covers all the most important needs. And honestly the explanation for what is likely wrong and what can be done about it. And then actually seeing it take place generates a great deal of comfort. This is compared to previous advise from other practitioners including “rest for a few years”.

What is the main difference (or main differences) that this work has had on your everyday life?

The main difference is that I’ve literally gotten my life back, even thought I’m not fully where I want to be just yet. This is compared to previously thinking I’m doing everything right, just to find myself in a worse situation. Very frustrating, to say the least. Totally confident and excited that this last mile will provide further results.

J Fage (UK)

Reason for engaging in nutritional therapy

Adrenal exhaustion, low energy, digestive complaints

Overall experience – how did you find it?

Before working with Marek, I felt hopeless about my health, despite having worked with multiple natural health practitioners. It was very clear from my first consultation with Marek that he has an excellent understanding of the human body. He was able to explain the root cause(s) of the symptoms I was experiencing such as low energy, adrenal fatigue, gut issues and hypersensitivity. If you’re looking for a band aid approach, Marek is not your man! But if you’re looking for somebody to get to the root cause of your illness and provide solutions that actually work, Marek is your man.

Were there any factors in my approach that you were not expecting (good or bad)?

I wasn’t expecting Marek to address limbic issues. In hindsight this was the missing piece of the jigsaw and consequently the introduction of body psychotherapy has been a very important part of my recovery.

What recommendation made the biggest difference for you?

Body Psychotherapy.

What is the main difference (or main differences) that this work has had on your everyday life?

It’s helping to address small traumas and remove layers of stress that were subconsciously interfering with my health.

Any other thoughts you would like to share?

If you want to address the root cause(s) of your illness and achieve better health, Marek is your man.

Carl (Essex)

Reason for engaging in nutritional therapy

Due to ongoing gut issues and auto-immune problems

Overall experience – how did you find it?

I am finding Marek’s way and approach a real eye-opener. Marek sets out his treatments based on specific tests undertaken, and then relays them back to me clearly and easily in layman’s terms. As the treatment he provides is personal and individual to me, I know that my recovery is ongoing and will be achieved – as opposed to the “conveyor belt” treatments I have received in the past, which felt as though they were going nowhere.

Were there any factors in my approach that you were not expecting (good or bad)?

I would say that when I first went to Marek I was in such dire straits that any change or recommendation was a good thing! However, I certainly feel that the most challenging aspect for me was dealing with my mental health, as my thought patterns were ingrained from a young age. Marek was extremely helpful with this, by suggesting particular types of mental health treatment and recommending certain books for reading and guidance.

What recommendation made the biggest difference for you?

I would say that the biggest recommendation made by Marek was for me to self-reflect and deal with past traumas. This in turn has allowed my recovery to progress in ways I didn’t necessarily expect, including working with a counsellor and also undertaking Total Release Experience (TRE) classes. I can now use these techniques on a day to day basis and am also able to fall back on them in times of future stress.

What is the main difference (or main differences) that this work has had on your everyday life?

I would say a profound difference. I feel that this has taken me to another level of awakening and understanding of how our bodies, minds and immune systems really do work. Additionally, what it takes to reach true health in both mind and body that perhaps many others, that haven’t been through my experiences, do not have and would truly prosper from knowing.

Any other thoughts you would like to share?

I would like to say that throughout my time working with Marek, I have always felt that I have been treated as an individual with my own unique issues and requirements. I have never been made to feel that I shouldn’t be feeling a certain way or suffering a certain symptom – each separate issue has been explored and processed, one stage at a time with the utmost respect and understanding. Certainly, if you are at a point where you are ready to deal with an illness or symptom that is worrying you or impacting your day to day life then I would highly recommend Marek to guide you through a treatment plan and recovery.

Ann Edwards (Frankfort, US)

Reason for engaging in nutritional therapy

I was miserable for years getting worse with every doctor I saw. I couldn’t see, menstrual cycle all messed up, hair falling out, digestive issues, night sweats, memory problems, tired all the time but couldn’t sleep.

Overall experience – how did you find it?

The best money I’ve ever spent ever! It was more intense than I was prepared for. There was a lot to do on my end. My favorite part is after the test he tells you what supplements to take when and what to eat and when to eat it ( based on what I told him I already ate, he just made some adjustments to what I was already eating. ) He figured out my main problem was oxalates and told me what to expect when I cut them out of my diet ( with the help of his genius oxalate calculator) it was serious hell for about 6 months.. but then all my problems resolved, my body started behaving like it used to. I’m around 9 months now and I still follow all of his advice and am still seeing results. His advice gave me my life back and resolved every issue I came to him for. I recommend him to people all the time. I plan on getting another test done next year and having him check everything again. I can’t recommend him enough. My life is completely changed for the better.

Were there any factors in my approach that you were not expecting (good or bad)?

I went into it as I was recovering from surgery and had 2 more within the 6 months. I wasn’t aware how much I was going to be expected to do. I think it would have been better to know that. It was a bit of a shock. But in hindsight I’m glad you didn’t tell me and I’m glad I didn’t wait until I was healed because I feel amazing now!!

What recommendation made the biggest difference for you?

Cutting out oxalates.

What is the main difference (or main differences) that this work has had on your everyday life?

Sleep is better, hair has grown back, normal period, when I wake I’m rested, normal digestion and bowl movements, my eyes aren’t scratchy and red anymore and I can wear contacts for the entire recommended time, skin much clearer and better color, joints hurt less, not as tired, I feel good after I eat.

Any other thoughts you would like to share?

This was the best decision I’ve ever made and I’m so happy I found Marek. He really made my life so much better.

Lewis (Kent)

Reason for engaging in nutritional therapy

Resolving short term and long term health issues overlooked by medical system.

Overall experience – how did you find it?

The program is easy to follow and Marek takes time to make a very detailed plan and provide explanations. It’s very comprehensive. I’ve made the best progress on my underlying issues working with Marek, and it’s just the beginning.

Were there any factors in my approach that you were not expecting (good or bad)?

I was not expecting an approach from a emotional regulation perspective. However, due to my situation, this has been a corner stone of my progress. It shows there is more than just tests, numbers and supplements to recovery.

What recommendation made the biggest difference for you?

Considering the effect of emotional regulation on recovery and the understanding of providing the body with energy support in order for my body to accept the supplements I need.

What is the main difference (or main differences) that this work has had on your everyday life?

My health concerns have improved drastically. Particularly my mental health and energy. It’s given me my life back. A number of other practitioners, including some well known ones, haven’t been able to do what Marek has done.

Any other thoughts you would like to share?

Marek is professional, personable and polite. He gets to the point in a good way, and encourages you to learn and think more, regardless of your level of understanding.
